Benny GoodmanBenny Goodman:
The undisputed "King of Swing," Benjamin David "Benny" Goodman ruled the jazz scene and captivated audiences for nearly five decades. A visionary artist, Goodman's contributions as a clarinetist and bandleader did much to facilitate the sound of swing music. Goodman's many awards include an honorary music doctorate from Columbia University, a Grammy for Lifetime Achievement and Kennedy Center honors. His classics tunes, like "The One O'Clock Jump," Stealin' Apples" and "Let's Dance" continue to remain popular among big band fans. The Chicago native was also instrumental in the civil rights movement, hiring talented musicians to join his band, regardless of their race or nationality.

Rocky Marciano Rocky Marciano:
Born on September 1, 1923, in Brockton, Massachusetts, Rocco Francis "Rocky" Marchegiano had the grit and determination to secure his position as a legend in the ring. While many in boxing thought the 190-pound heavyweight was too short and too light, Marciano's hometown fans supported him by traveling to fights and chanting "Timmmmberrr" when his opponents began to falter. Marciano captured the heavyweight title for the first time when he knocked out champ Jersey Joe Walcott in 1952, and defended the title six times until 1956. Ultimately, Marciano held the heavyweight boxing title for four years, and became the only
                                champion to retire undefeated.
