Redd Foxx Subject Of Discussion In American Legacy
Notorious for his frank, tell-it-like-it-is
style, Redd
Foxx broke new ground for
minorities and comedians alike. By joking about everything from
sex to color barriers, he brought simmering and taboo issues
into the open. Foxx's albums stand as proof of his legacy as
they continue to sell, topping out at over 15 million copies
today.
Currently, Foxx is the subject of discussion in publisher Lawrence
Hill's newly released book, "African American Humor: The Best
Black Comedy from Slavery to Today." In a review of the book,
American Legacy Magazine discusses Foxx's unique contributions
in this area. An image of Foxx was featured alongside the review.
The Fall Issue of the quarterly magazine is due in late August
2002. For more information, visit www.americanlegacy.com.
