"My Marilyn" A Moving Tribute

Marilyn Monroe, the ultimate icon of beauty and glamour, continues to intrigue fans around the world decades after her death. This beloved icon is remembered for her roles in movies such as The Seven Year Itch (1955), Some Like It Hot (1959) and The Misfits (1961). The sense of innocence and naturalism Monroe conveyed, both on and off the screen, has endeared her to millions worldwide.

In a recent release, jazz musician David Klein has honored Monroe's effervescent spirit. Klein's CD is a moving tribute, entitled My Marilyn. "I was inspired to record this tribute to Marilyn Monroe after watching her publicist cry on camera when talking about her," says Klein. "I knew then that she had to be an amazing person underneath her star persona to evoke such feelings, which is what we were trying to capture when making this recording in honor of what would have been her 75th birthday."

The CD incorporates a variety of songs from Monroe's movies, including "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend" and "Some Like it Hot," all which have been reproduced by the David Klein Quintet. Released under the Enja record label, My Marilyn comes in a deluxe CD box and includes a booklet comprised of rare and candid photos.
