Born in Portugal in 1909, Carmen
Miranda is fondly remembered
for her colorful, exotic style and happy personality. Carmen
impressed audiences with her beauty, spectacular turbans and
incomparable grace, eventually garnering international fame.
Also known in United States as the "Brazilian Bombshell," she
performed in many films and musicals, such as the celebrated
masterpiece the South
American Way. Eventually she
became the first Latin artist to have her hands and feet printed
in the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.
