Hank Williams' Remains a Country Music Star

Hank Williams Fifty years after his death, Hank Williams, Sr. was honored with a commemorative concert at the Grand Ole Opry. Willams' son, Hank Jr., and grandson, Hank Williams III, were on hand for several performances. Other entertainers included Vince Gill, Little Jimmy Dickens and Henderson Payne, each of whom performed a cover of one of Williams' timeless tunes. The event was held in the Ryman Auditorium on January 4, 2003, and aired later that day on the cable station Country Music Television.

Known as the greatest country singer of all time, Hank Williams was also one of the best songwriters music has ever known. Williams wrote most of the songs he sang, and did so in a sincere and honest manner to which everyone could relate. William's music, including
Cold, Cold Heart, Hey Good Lookin' and Your Cheating Heart, have become eternal classics of American music.
