Marilyn Monroe, Raymond Loewy
among clients in the news
The October issues of Esquire and Vanity
Fair are bursting with some of CMG’s most influential clients.
To celebrate Esquire’s 70 years in print, the magazine conducted a poll asking readers to vote on the greatest moments, people and other influential events during the last seven decades. The 70th Anniversary issue hit stands in October, with Marilyn
Monroe in the first spot as the readers’ designated “Greatest Woman.” Just after her was Sophia
Loren, who was voted the third greatest woman. When
it came to the greatest sports moments, CMG clients Jackie
Robinson and Jesse Owens were
found in the top three. Jackie Robinson’s breaking of Major League Baseball’s color barrier earned him the second spot, while Jesse Owens gold medal sweep during the 1939 Olympics came in third.
Vanity Fair’s article on the prestigious Concorde jet had many mentions of industrial designer Raymond
Lowey. Lowey was hired by Air France to help design the inside of the Concorde cabins. He also designed the planes flatware, among other things. According to the article, this flatware became the item to swipe as a memento from the famous plane.
CMG’s variety of timeless clients are continually receiving recognition from across the world, and this October’s dedications in Esquire and Vanity Fair continue the testament to their legends.
