Olympic Games ad honors "Innovators"
Xerox has announced that it will utilize images of
CMG Worldwide clients Amelia
Earhart, Chuck Berry and
Frank Lloyd Wright for a promotional campaign
in conjunction with the 2004 Summer
Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Beginning on June 1, 2003, the three clients’ images will be used in a video to be displayed in connection with the Xerox sponsorship.
Called “Innovation Changes Everything,” the promotional video will be used for Xerox’s internal corporate purposes in addition to being shown at trade shows and the Xerox pavilion at the Olympic games in 2004. Images of Earhart, Berry and Wright appear in a video montage of great historical innovators, as the voice-over describes people who “turn their back on conventional wisdom to accomplish something in a completely unexpected way.”
Earhart, Berry and Wright were each important innovators in very different ways.
Earhart was the first female pilot to fly across the Atlantic and set numerous
flight records in competition against both men and women. Rock and roll pioneer
Chuck Berry delighted audiences with his charismatic performances on the electric
guitar. The architecture and theory of Frank Lloyd Wright continue to inspire
innovation in today’s architects. Earhart, Berry and Wright are perfect additions to the video as real-life examples of Xerox’s claim that “Innovation Changes Everything.”
