Charlie Parker's Sax The “jazziest” auction around

Desperate to won a priceless piece of jazz history? How about one of Charlie Parker’s saxophones? Perhaps a trumpet that belonged to Dizzy Gillespie? Maybe even an evening gown worn by “The First Lady of Song” Ella Fitzgerald? All these relics and more can be yours… if you bid high enough. New York’s Guernsey Auction House sold 450-odd pieces of jazz memorabilia on the auction block on Sunday, February 20. The auction was held at the Time Warner Center in New York City, in Frederick P. Rose Hall, home to Jazz at Lincoln Center.
