Lunch With a Leader™ kicks off in high gear
“All children have the
potential to be successful, but they can only reach that potential
when they stay in the race,” said NASCAR driver extraordinaire
Bill
Elliott during an appearance at Vance High School in Charlotte, N.C.
He was there to kick off the Communities In Schools®
Lunch
With a Leader™ online auction program. The cause will help children
all over the country to stay in school and experience a better quality of life.
Bill Elliott’s auction ran from January 18 until January 28. The winning
bid was an astonishing $3,076.09.
"I love Lunch With a Leader™, because everybody comes out
a winner. One of my fans will be the high bidder and win a lunch
with me. Communities In Schools® will benefit from the dollars
raised, and most of all a kid somewhere will have a better chance
of winning in life,” said Elliott. The event was a huge success
and leads to high hopes for the future of the program.
Bill Elliott is really going all out for this cause. In addition to the Lunch With a Leader™ event, he will also be recording public service announcements to promote the worthy effort.
Elliott is just one of the over 200 celebrities that are up
for bids on EBay for the remarkable program. The Lunch With A Leader™ online
charity auction features a wide array of celebrity “prizes.” Everyone
from songstress Patti LaBelle to Matt Hasselbeck of the Seattle
Seahawks are joining Elliott in the fight to keep kids in school. Each
superstar
participant will be up for auction for 10 days.
Communities In Schools® is the United States premiere charity for keeping kids in school and preparing them for life. They have created services and programs to help kids through more than 200 local and state affiliates.
